A group of 12 students and I worked alongside mentors from Gensler, GMS, JB&B, Cerami, and Turner to design our own building in the ACE of Greater NY Mentorship program.

 

I led the structural division, which entailed calculating loads to determine locations for pillars and beams. During this process, I created a structural diagram for the largest building in the center to demonstrate one example of how the structural components would be laid out. I also determined where to place the geothermal system in regard to the land restrictions we had with the space we had been given, and how best to distribute it amongst the three buildings in our design.
